If you have any enquiries or an idea for your desired portrait, please email val.portraits@gmail.com or fill out the form on the contact page of this website. From here, we can discuss how you would like your portrait to appear and finalise which photo you would like to use.
If you'd like to go ahead with the commission, you will receive an estimated completion date and an invoice for a non-refundable 20% deposit. This is payable via bank transfer or PayPal.
The time required to complete a portrait varies depending on the size and complexity. The average time is usually between 2 to 8 weeks. So please be aware to book in advance and allow enough time for it to be finished, especially if it's a gift for a special occasion or holiday.
Communication is key, so you will be updated on the progress of the drawing throughout the process. This way you can let me know how you find the likeliness and if there are any alterations you would like to be made.
Once the drawing has been completed and you're satisfied with the outcome, you will be sent a second invoice for the remaining balance, again via bank transfer or PayPal.
Your finished portrait will then be packaged safely and posted using Royal Mail's 'Tracked - Next Day Special Delivery'. We can arrange a date that is convenient for you and a tracking number will be provided, so you can look forward to it's arrival!

choosing a photo
When creating a portrait, it is important for the provided photos to be high-quality and large enough to accurately capture a good likeness. Sometimes photos downloaded from social media are not suitable because they have been resized and compressed. The best photos for this purpose are those taken in natural lighting, at eye level with the subject, and with high resolution. I understand there may be situations where your photo options are limited. Please feel free to message me with what you have available, and I will gladly help with finding the best option!
